Punta Raza in Nayarit, Mexico

Punta Raza, Nayarit, on the Pacific coast of Mexico. Morning, around half past eight, the light already warm. Standing right at the edge of the waves, the sea moves in close and full — each break heavy, the foam rushing up the sand and pulling back through itself. The water surrounds the ear, near and present. A pelican passes overhead now and then, a single low call, the slow beat of wings before it fades. Then only the ocean again, breaking and receding, breaking and receding, into the soft Mexican morning. Microphones Schoeps CCM4 in an ORTF Setup, with a CINELA suspension
