Moonstone beach, California
Moonstone Beach, California. Late afternoon, the tide pulling back. Waves break in long, slow rolls, then hiss across the pebbles as they retreat — a sound like rain falling upward. Gulls cry overhead, distant and sharp. A gust of wind, then quiet. The pebbles shift underfoot. The ocean breathes in, breathes out.
