Polder near 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands
A polder on the edge of 's-Hertogenbosch, North Brabant. The city is still close — you can hear it as a low hum across the flat land, steady and distant. Electric trains pass on a concrete flyover, a clean mechanical sound that appears and fades without disrupting anything. Far traffic. Meadow birds. Then, around the twenty-minute mark, a group of runners passes — their footsteps, their breathing, a fragment of conversation — and then the polder is quiet again, and the birds resume. Nearly an hour of it. Recorded with a Rode NT4 in XY configuration. This is the Dutch countryside as it actually sounds: not silent, not romantic, just itself.
